A mechanical model for magnetized relativistic blastwaves

چکیده
The evolution of a relativistic blastwave is usually delineated under the assumption pressure balance between forward- and reverse-shocked regions. However, such treatment violates energy conservation law, inconsistent with existing MHD numerical simulation results. A mechanical model non-magnetized blastwaves was proposed in previous work to solve problem. In this paper, we generalize case driven by an ejecta arbitrary magnetization parameter $\sigma_{\rm ej}$. We test our modified considering long-lasting magnetized found that it much better than pressure-balance terms conservation. For constant central engine wind luminosity $L_{\rm ej} = 10^{47}{\rm erg~s^{-1}}$ < 10$, deviation from negligibly small at radii, but only reaches less $25\%$ even $10^{19}{\rm cm}$ engine. finite life time engine, reverse shock crosses earlier for higher ej}$, which consistent analytical general, more precise traditional models results closer those simulations.

Relativistic blastwaves and synchrotron emission
Relativistic shocks accelerate particles by the first order Fermi mechanism. These particles then emit synchrotron emission in the post shock gas. We have developed a numerical code which integrates the relativistic Euler equations for fluid dynamics with a general equation of state, together with the Liouville equation for the accelerated particles. We present tests of this code and, in additi...
متن کاملDeformation of relativistic magnetized stars
We formulate deformation of relativistic stars due to the magnetic stress, considering the magnetic fields to be perturbations from spherical stars. The ellipticity for the dipole magnetic field is calculated for some stellar models. We have found that the ellipticity becomes large with increase of a relativistic factor for the models with the same energy ratio of the magnetic energy to the gra...

Numerical simulations of weakly magnetized and strongly magnetized relativistic jets embedded in a weakly magnetized and strongly magnetized stationary or weakly relativistic (v = c/2) sheath have been performed. A magnetic field parallel to the flow is used in these simulations performed by the new GRMHD numerical code RAISHIN used in its RMHD configuration. In the numerical simulations the Lo...
متن کاملFluid description of relativistic, magnetized plasma
Many astrophysical plasmas and some laboratory plasmas are relativistic: either the thermal speed or the local ow speed (in a convenient frame) approaches the speed of light. Many such plasmas are also magnetized, in the sense that the thermal Larmor radius is smaller than gradient scale lengths. Relativistic MHD, conventionally used to describe such systems, requires the collision time to be s...
متن کاملGravitational waves in magnetized relativistic plasmas
We study the propagation of gravitational waves (gw) in a uniformly magnetized plasma at arbitrary angles to the magnetic field. No a priori assumptions are made about the temperature, and we consider both a plasma at rest and a plasma flowing out at ultra-relativistic velocities. In the 3+1 orthonormal tetrad description, we find that all three fundamental low-frequency plasma wave modes are e...
